In today’s busy society more and more people are seeking for some peace and tranquility to help with their Health and wellbeing .

Because of this we have seen an increase in groups wanting to run retreats for that”away from it all”experience.

Our first retreat request was in 2014. It seems such a long time ago now as we have had quite a few since then. Groups choose Coldwell  Activity Centre , set in the pennine district of Lancashire to be the perfect place for their retreats for many reasons:

  • They are helping others- we are a not-for profit organisation. Any profit made goes towards helping worthy groups have a break away, activity day , Christmas parties and more.
  • Peaceful surroundings with beautiful views.
  • Rural location yet only 10 minutes drive from the M65.
  • Homely and comfortable accommodation.
  • Not a 5 star hotel but reflects the very reasonable price.
  • Flexibility to come self-catering , B & B up to full-board.
  • Home-made vegetarian /vegan menu’s available.
  • Other dietary requirements met.
  • Varied rooms available for yoga, meditation and workshops.
  • Added bonus of using the conservatory overlooking the reservoir.
  • New wooden cabin overlooking the moorland, ideal for extra yoga class.
  • Free WiFi / broadband.
  • Great Customer service shown by our testimonials, reviews and feedback.
  • Exclusive use of the Centre and grounds, no sharing with other groups.
  • Gardens and woodland area for reflection and walking meditation.
  • Great facilities including conference room for classroom based workshops.

This year we have had 3 successful retreats groups  , NOW silent retreat, Serenity and Community of the interbeing.

We do not run the retreats ourselves, but we supply the venue and in some cases provide all the meals. You are welcome to contact the retreat providers below direct if you are interested in booking on one as an individual. Alternatively if you would like to book Coldwell Activity Centre to do you own thing, please contact us .

Contact Joanne or Claire on 01282 601819 or email bookings@coldwell.org.uk

A testament to our Centre is that all groups have booked again immediately after their initial booking.

Here are a couple of reviews from the groups that have held retreats:

‘The happiness, quiet efficiency and unobtrusiveness of the staff allowed us to feel completely at home in the Centre whilst being looked after so splendidly ‘– Silent Retreat 2015

‘ I just wanted to say thank you once again from all of us that came on the retreat. You were all warm, helpful and welcoming, it truly felt like home from home. Everything ran so smoothly thanks to you.  The yoga cabin was brill, the food delicious and plentiful and the setting is stunning’      Helen Sutcliffe – Serenity retreats June 2017
