New – activity days and workshops

New to Coldwell – Midweek day activities /workshops for groups  (minimum of 16 people but please still contact us if your group size is less)

We are now able to accommodate midweek daytime activity days/ workshops which include lunch.

From as little as £10 per person + vat up to £50 per person + vat (this includes a lunch of home-made pie and peas or home-made soup and sandwich , home-made cake and tea, coffee and cold drinks throughout)

They can be just the morning with lunch or be a full-day with lunch included to suit all budgets and schedules.

The activity days and workshops are ideal for :

Work team building

Youth group activity days

Society groups

School/college activity days

Corporate activity days

Birthday partys

Away days

Or just an excuse to have a good day out with your group!

We  have something to suit everyone , why not come along for a free visit with no obligation. Just give us a call to make an appointment.

 

Workshops:

Aromatherapy workshop – 3 hours – a lesson on blending oils , learning about their benefits and self-massage.

Mosaic workshop – 3 hours -making a small mosaic plaque incorporating recycled materials such as china, buttons and other personal items brought on the day.  All materials provided including plywood board, various tesserae, PVA glue, grout, and some tile nippers.

Grout will be taken home to be finished next day with full instructions. Will need to bring own plastic protective goggles.

 

3d paper mache workshop – 3 hours-3d paper mache bird with recycled paper feathers.  Workshop making the paper mache body of the bird and covering it in torn up paper feather to create a bird to display in a frame or on the wall. Old colourful magazines will be asked to be brought in to use.

Traditional storytelling skills – 3 hours – An Introduction to storytelling, this may be of interest to parents, grandparents, youth workers, teaching assistants, childcare workers etc. (or anyone interested in telling stories to any ages.

Activities:

 

Ghost stories/Pendle witch stories – 3 hours– Tales of famous ghosts and the famous 1612Pendle witches conducted by award winning guide and professional storyteller Simon Entwistle.

Guided Walks- 3 hours  – Taken on a guided walk around Coldwell taking in some of the beautiful scenery , can be adapted to abilities

Laser tag – 2 hours – Laser combat in our woods area, using laser guns, so no mess!,  promoting leadership and teambuilding .

Archery – shooting bows and arrows at a target in a clearing in the woods

Bushcraft/survival skills – using the 4 essentials air, water, food and shelter.  Includes shelter building, fire lighting and hopefully at the end having a hot drink and toasting marshmallows!

Problem solving – A range of problem solving challenges, sessions can be themed.

Team challenge– Again this can be set around a theme for the team to work towards a common goal.

Nightline- A great challenge of your senses and communication as a blindfolded course. Can be adapted for wheelchair users.

 

The five activities above are usually around 1 and half hours , so you can combine them for a full-day or half day.

Canoeing-3 hours –open canoe paddled by 1-3 people (subject to availability and time of year-only August, September and October at Coldwell)adapted wheelchair canoe available.

Example programmes:

Programme 1  

10am-12 noon – laser tag

12.15- lunch of soup and sandwich, cake and a drink

1-4pm – Archery and team building and problem solving or bushcraft and survival skills

 

Programme 2

9.30-12.30 -guided walk

12.30 –lunch – pie and peas, cake and a drink

1-4 pm – Archery, bushcraft and survival skills

Half day programmes also available.

Lunch can be adapted for any dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking.
