We have been running the guided walks now for a year , guided by our great volunteer Peter. Peter came along to volunteer in our gardens on Fridays alongside our longstanding volunteer Chaddy.
Peter has a great interest in walking so he started the free guided walks on the last Friday of the month.
We went to Boulsworth Hill , maybe a difficult one for for my first one but I thought I would throw myself in at the deep end. Peter explained the weather was due to turn around lunchtime so stated in would be best to go the shorter route up to the top but warned it would be much steeper.
I brought along my Managers dog Ralph, so I was hoping he would pull me up the hill , but no he stayed at my side! On the way Peter pointed out several historical facts , so learning at the same time as walking.
I felt a great achievement when reaching the top and the view made it well worth it . I never knew I would be able to see so far and wide.
The journey down was a relief to my calves and the thought of resting with food and drink kept me going.
We were greeted by the friendly staff and realised how lucky we were to be able to have somewhere to get changed and enjoy a hot sandwich and hot drink.
