Coldwell is set in the hills of Pendle and boasts beautiful views of woods, reservoirs and wildlife from every angle. However, Coldwell is within walking distance of Nelson, Colne and Trawden, offering shops, restaurants and many other things to do. The nearest pub is just 1.7 miles away, only 3 minutes by car, and serves lovely home-made food and there are many different takeaways that deliver to Coldwell ranging from Chinese to Pizza. So, although remote, Coldwell is within easy access to everything you will need to make your stay enjoyable.

Trawden (3 miles) is a lovely village with pubs, a post office and church.

Colne (2.8 miles) is a lovely market town with cobbled streets, a beautiful church and numerous pubs and restaurants. Also the home to the famous Boundary Mill, a discount retail outlet.

Nelson (3.2 miles) a developed mill town, formed from the two parishes of Great and Little Marsden. Also has numerous shops, pubs, restaurants, takeaways and an indoor market.

Burnley (7 miles) has a lively nightlife, drawing people from all over the North West. Has a large town centre with high street shops and covered market hall. Burnley also has a large cinema, bowling alley and leisure centre.

Wycoller is a few miles away and can be visited by car or a direct footpath from Coldwell. It is a beautiful historic Hamlet, its ruined hall thought to be the setting for the Bronte novel Jane Eyre. Has a craft shop and tea-room and famous pack horse bridge with an information centre for visitors. In summer it is a lovely place to take children who can play in the river and feed the ducks.

Skipton, a Yorkshire market town, is a little further afield and boasts a large castle, beautiful market and unique shops.
